How does Rick’s Cleanouts price a job?

We charge by volume, meaning the space your items take up in our truck, not by the hour. Before we start, our team looks over the materials, walks you through the pricing, and gives you a free estimate. You’ll know the total before we load a single item, and there are no hidden fees.

What is included in the price?

The price covers loading, hauling, disposal, recycling when possible, and cleanup of the area once we’re done. You aren’t billed separately for labor or for the trip to the disposal site.

What can change the price of my job?

The biggest factor is how much truck space your items take up, but a few other things matter. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, brick, or construction debris require extra labor and special disposal. Accessibility matters too, so items coming out of upper floors, basements, attics, or tight spots take more time and effort. Large items like hot tubs, sheds, pianos, or exercise equipment may need extra crew or equipment to move safely. Some items also carry disposal or recycling fees set by local facilities. We walk through all of it during your free estimate.

Is the estimate really free, and am I committed to it?

The estimate is free and there is no obligation to move forward until you’re comfortable with the price.

Do you offer same-day junk removal?

Yes. We’re open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and offer same-day and next-day junk removal. Call and we’ll get you on the schedule. Same-day service is common for move-outs, property sales, and last-minute cleanups.

What areas do you serve?

We’re locally owned in Garfield, NJ, and cover Northern New Jersey. That includes Clifton, Englewood, Fair Lawn, Garfield, Hackensack, Mahwah, Passaic, Paterson, Teaneck, and Woodland Park, along with the surrounding communities. If you’re not sure whether you’re in range, call and ask.

What items do you take?

Appliances, armoires, BBQ grills, beds and mattresses, construction debris, exercise equipment, fridges and freezers, hot tubs and spas, household junk, office furniture, play sets, recyclable materials, sofas and couches, tables and shelves, toys and clothing, TVs and electronics, wardrobes, warehouse junk, washers and dryers, and wood furniture, among other things. What happens to my junk after you haul it away?

We sort through everything we collect and look for items made of metal, cardboard, paper, plastic, and other recyclable materials. We avoid landfills and transfer stations every chance we get. Only what can’t go anywhere else ends up at the landfill. We aim to recycle or donate everything else.

Can you donate things instead of throwing them out?

Yes. We run a donation pickup service for belongings that are still usable but that you no longer want. You don’t have to box anything up or drive it anywhere. Our crew handles it.

Do you rent dumpsters, or do you only haul?

Both. If you’d rather load at your own pace, we offer 15-yard and 20-yard dumpsters for home cleanouts, renovations, and construction projects. If you’d rather not touch it at all, our crew does the loading and hauling for you.

How much does a dumpster rental cost?

A 15-yard dumpster is $550 plus tax, and a 20-yard dumpster is $650 plus tax. The quote covers delivery, pickup, the rental period, and disposal fees. Tell us about your project and we’ll recommend the right size.

Can I fill the dumpster above the top?

No. Overflow isn’t allowed, so that we can haul the load safely.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Rick’s Cleanouts is a licensed and insured junk removal company operating as NJ Furniture LLC.

Do you clean up after the job?

Yes. We work fast without cutting corners, and we sweep up after ourselves before we leave.

Why is a local company less expensive than a national one?

We’re locally owned and we’re not a franchise, so we skip the national ad spend and the franchise fees a big brand has to pay for. That keeps our costs down, and it keeps our prices fair.
